Summer is the best time to seek therapy

The best time to start therapy is during a low stress time, that way you can acquire those skills and use them for the months to come.
Summer is a time of being less busy:
  • Children are usually out of school during this time, so there is more time during the day
  • During school time children are busy with school, extracurriculars, and other social demands
  • Trying to squeeze in therapy during that stressful time between school and etc can be challenging
  • During the summer it is usually a time for relaxation, but therapy can provide a needed structure and routine that are important to maintain good mental health
  • For many individuals in school, school provides a structure and routine, when individuals have more free time, it usually leads to anxiety and depression
  • Therapy can provide a structure as well as a place to set goals for the summer
Summer is a time for reflection, prep, and growth:
  • With more free time and less obligations, there is an opportunity to focus on growth and reflection, which is something therapy can help with
  • Learning and practicing tools for stress and coping management during a less stressful time can prepare for those stressful times during the following months
  • Additionally, therapy in the summer allows for a chance on processing and reflecting on what went well and did not throughout the busy year
  • Summer season usually brings a calm and positive vibe due to the lack of stress and demands, seeking therapy during this time allows for the boost in progress towards better mental health
Summer is built on less stress and demands, which brings out positivity. Seeking therapy during this time can help prepare you for stressful times and set a great foundation towards self care and growth.
