  • Chief Operating Officer

As the Chief Operating Officer, Nexhat infuses his leadership with a genuine commitment to mental wellness. He doesn't just manage processes; he nurtures an environment where every individual feels heard and supported.

I’m driven by a desire to help others, and as Chief of Operations at Maple Leaf Counseling, I get to do just that on a larger scale, by supporting our team as they support our community of clients. A good therapy experience is about more than just the progress you make in your sessions; it’s also about the customer experience you have in working with us, so my aim is for your session to go smoothly, from appointment booking to payment.

From maintaining our offices, to managing our website and marketing outreach, to troubleshooting scheduling or payment issues, I have a hand in helping Maple Leaf Counseling run as smoothly as possible.

We’re dreaming big at the practice these days, asking ourselves questions like how can we serve our clients better? What more can we do for them? As COO, I lead strategic initiatives that help answer these questions and I couldn’t be more excited to see our practice grow within the communities we serve. When I think about my job, I find joy in tapping into creativity to solve problems and feel accomplished when I can resolve a client or practitioner’s issue.

Sports and fitness have played a large part throughout most of my life. I excelled at playing volleyball for my home country and pursued a degree in physical education and coaching in my collegiate years. Volleyball will always hold a special place in my heart, not only because I love the sport, but also because I met my wife (also a top volleyball athlete) while playing the game!

Client Focus: All clients who come to the practice, and all of our wonderful mental healthcare providers.

Issues: Troubleshooting systems, creating scheduling and payment solutions.

More than just my work: Outside of the COO hat I wear, I love nothing more than to hang out with my wife and three kids in my free time. At home, I’m known as the family’s master barista and I enjoy making special macchiato drinks for my wife and I. In my free time, I’m a big fan of hanging out in quaint downtown Claremont and although I like trying new food, I’ll never tire of pasta and steak.

Education: University of Prishtina, Bachelor’s in Physical Education Teaching and Coaching
