For parents navigating a teen's anxiety, couples working through a rough patch, or adults managing stress and life transitions, our Arcadia office offers weekday, evening, and weekend appointments.

Looking for a therapist in Arcadia, CA? Maple Leaf Counseling provides compassionate, evidence-based therapy for individuals, couples, teens, and families in Arcadia and the surrounding San Gabriel Valley.

Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or life transitions, our licensed therapists are here to support you with personalized care in a safe and welcoming environment.

Primary Clinical Focus at Our Arcadia Therapy Practice

Our Arcadia office sees a wide mix of clients from the surrounding San Gabriel Valley communities, including Pasadena, Monrovia, Sierra Madre, and Temple City. Many of the families we work with here are balancing demanding school schedules, multigenerational households, and the pressure of a competitive academic environment, so a large part of our caseload centers on adolescent anxiety, family communication, and stress management for parents themselves.

Our therapists draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family systems therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches, adjusting the mix to fit each client's needs. Sessions here also serve individual adults working through depression, life transitions, and chronic stress, as well as couples looking to rebuild communication and trust.

OUR THERAPY SERVICES IN ARCADIA

Maple Leaf Counseling specializes in individual therapy, teen and child therapy, chronic illness support, couples counseling, grief therapy, and family therapy. Each of our therapists brings specialized training to their focus area, and we tailor our approach to fit the person in front of us rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model.

Work one-on-one with a licensed therapist to manage anxiety, depression, stress, and personal challenges. Sessions are grounded in evidence-based approaches like CBT and are shaped around your specific goals, whether that means developing coping tools, working through a difficult season, or building longer-term self-understanding.

Support your child or teen with emotional, behavioral, and social challenges. Working with young people requires training beyond standard adult therapy techniques; our therapists understand developmental stages, family dynamics, and how to build trust with clients who may be hesitant to open up. We also involve parents where appropriate, so support extends beyond the therapy room.

Manage the emotional impact of chronic health conditions and build resilience. Living with an ongoing health condition affects far more than the body; it touches identity, relationships, and daily functioning. Our therapists help clients process grief, adjust expectations, and find a sustainable way forward.

Improve communication, rebuild trust, and strengthen your relationship. Whether you're navigating a specific conflict or feeling generally disconnected, couples work here focuses on practical communication tools alongside a deeper look at the patterns driving disconnection.

Process loss and find healing with compassionate support. Grief doesn't move in a straight line, and our therapists meet clients wherever they are in that process, whether the loss is recent or long-standing.

Create healthier communication patterns and improve family dynamics. Family therapy at our Arcadia office often addresses parent-teen conflict, major life transitions, and communication breakdowns, with a focus on practical strategies the whole family can use at home.

Our Arcadia therapists are licensed clinicians with specialized training in their focus areas, and we invest in ongoing continuing education so our approaches stay current with the research. We operate as a private pay practice, which allows our therapists more flexibility in session length, pacing, and treatment approach than many insurance-based practices allow, without a diagnosis or treatment plan dictated by a third party.

Just as important is the culture of the practice itself. Our therapists collaborate with each other, consult on complex cases, and share a genuine commitment to client care rather than treating therapy as a volume business. That shows up in the little things: sessions that start on time, therapists who remember what you talked about last time, and a team that treats your goals as the actual measure of success.

What to Expect When You Arrive at Maple Leaf Counseling's Arcadia Office

Our Arcadia office is located at 212 E Foothill Blvd, in a second-floor suite with elevator access, right along Foothill Boulevard near Ralph's, Grocery Outlet, and Starbucks. The building offers plentiful on-site parking, so you won't need to hunt for street parking or feed a meter before your session.

Once you're on the second floor, look for our office at the very end of the hall, marked with a Maple Leaf Counseling sign on the door. When you arrive, have a seat in the waiting area and your therapist will come out to greet you at your appointment time.

We've tried to make the space itself feel unhurried. The goal is that by the time you sit down with your therapist, any pre-appointment nerves have already started to ease.

Accessibility and Sensory Information

The building is elevator-served, so clients who cannot use stairs can reach the second-floor office without difficulty. On-site parking is available directly at the building, and restroom access is available on-site as well. We keep the space quiet, so clients who are sensitive to noise or need a calmer environment before or after a session can expect a low-stimulation setting.

Can't Make It to Our Arcadia Office? We Also Provide Online Therapy in California

For clients who can't make it into the Arcadia office, whether due to a busy schedule, distance, or simply a preference for meeting from home, we offer telehealth sessions through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. Online therapy allows you to work with the same licensed therapists and the same evidence-based approaches, just from wherever is most convenient.

Our therapists are licensed to see clients throughout California, so telehealth is available regardless of where in the state you're located. Dr. April Ballard also holds licensure in Oregon, so clients located there can work with her via telehealth as well.

To get the most out of an online session, we recommend finding a private, quiet space, testing your internet connection ahead of time, and treating the appointment with the same focus you'd bring to an in-person visit: closing other tabs, silencing notifications, and giving yourself a few minutes afterward before jumping back into your day.
